Early Spring Wilting

the sky is high

and the birds as they fly,

swoop low to soil

in wilting arcs.

after a winter’s cold,

and heavy

under denser air.

flowers droop

under their petals

hiding, let them shrivel.

shivering buds and

pre-bloom trunks return,

collapse under the season’s

sovereignty.

spring brings life and

is the season of.

but newness is delicate...

with shifting winds,

a flower to-be,

turns back into a seed.
