You found my ladybug!

It may have been underneath a tree, or hiding between library books, or I may have just handed it to you. (In which case, did you really find it?)

This ladybug is a nomad, and it would love for you to take it home if you’ll give it shelter. It will live with you as long as you want. Ladybug’s carry messages, so if you're patient, it may start to whisper stories to you: tales from its journeys, old myths, and maybe even a story about you.

Living with a ladybug could affect you in unpredictable ways. They can color your dreams, help nearby plants grow, summon blue skies, interfere with radio waves, or do absolutely nothing. Often a ladybug will emit charged particles, filling the air with a latent electricity that increases the potential for creative sparks.

Welcome this ladybug into your life, and it will become a key, unlocking windows at the edge of your experience, helping you cross the shimmery line between worlds—between here and there, yourself and your other self, humanity and nature.

Like art, the ladybug is a symbol of transition. We allow ladybugs to crawl all over our bodies, living with us in a way very few other bugs are permitted. They are small, beautiful, and welcome intrusions of nature into our otherwise unnatural sanctuaries. By accepting our coexistence with ladybugs, and understanding this acceptance, we can learn to become more comfortable accepting other unfamiliar realities and organisms—bugs, beliefs, ideas, and cosmic structures.

I try to be like a ladybug, and if you’d like to interact with my unpredictable affects, you can do so through my art. Here, I’ve handed you the key:
